With experience working on previous movies and documentaries (such as Star Wars) we have a sound understanding of working closely with cameramen, producers and cast members.
We can provide safety cover for everyone on set, be it cast, stunt crews or staff, working on or near water.
We can even double cameramen on the PWC's on the water getting them right in the thick of the action.
Ocean / lake swims and triathlons - We can provide a water based fast response lifeguard and extraction service. Catering for any size event we have years of experience providing the type of lifeguard cover large open water swims need.
Private / Corporate Functions -
Is your large social event happening in, on or close to water? We can provide shore or water based lifeguards to ensure the safety of all your revelers.
Special Events / Festivals

We have over 20 years in open water event work of all sorts. From adventure centers, beach life-guarding, movie productions, open water swimming events to expedition cover we have a lifetime of experience in ocean, fresh water, lakes, river, whitewater, offshore and tight urban waterways.
Atop that, and equally as important, we have a lifetime working in fluid, constantly changing, time sensitive, remote and difficult locations. It means we have the logistical expertise to arrive anywhere in Ireland, with everything we need and be self reliant. Then we can quickly access and learn the area we will be working in, ensuring we can provide our core service - LIFEGUARDING.

About Us
Open Water Swimmer Ireland started it's swim series way back in 2012. With a background in event management and a personal passion for open water swimming we set about running events open to EVERYONE and in beautiful and unique Irish locations.
Our goals are to offer fun, safe, professional events that everyone can enter. It doesn't matter if you love your wetsuit, are a skins advocate, club affiliated, complete beginner, young or not so young, wild swimmer, racer, triathlete, some governing body member or not - you're welcome at an Open Water Swimmer Ireland event!!!
We are extremely proud that our swim series is now Ireland's largest and our Glendalough event is the biggest weekend of open water swimming in the country.
Open Water Swimmer does extensive event management plans leading up to all our swims to ensure the safest conditions for those involved. We have spent a lot of time scouting the country to ensure our swims are in stunning and unique bodies of water. We also have an extensive green and minimum impact policy both with our day to day running and while using the waterways.
All the courses are swam by ourselves prior to race day and are actually depth sounded using sonar. The course distances are laid out using GPS for complete accuracy, so don't worry the distances are what they should be, how straight you swim will dictate if you do more.
Our swim routes are laid out with the greatest consideration for local wildlife and fish stocks.
We work with the national park rangers and fishing clubs to ensure there's no ill effect on the wildlife . Powercraft are necessary for safety but their use is kept to a minimum. We are very conscious of the introduction of pest species from one water way to another via boat hulls and steps are in place to ensure this doesn't happen. Our own company vehicles are carbon off set and our staff are qualified beach lifeguards, powerboat licensed and first aid certified.
